PropPanda ("we," "us," or "our") operates the PropPanda platform at proppanda.app. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

Short version: we collect what we need to run the service, we don't sell your data, and we take security seriously.

What We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up, we collect:

  • Name and email address
  • Authentication data (managed by Clerk — we don't store your password)

Property & Tenant Data

To provide the service, we store:

  • Property addresses and unit details
  • Tenant names, email addresses, and phone numbers
  • Lease terms and rent amounts
  • Maintenance requests and communications

Financial Data

  • Payments: Processed through Stripe. We don't store credit card numbers or bank account details — Stripe handles that.
  • Bank connections: If you connect your bank via Plaid, we receive transaction data for expense tracking. We don't have access to your bank login credentials.
  • Expense records: Manually entered or imported expenses are stored in your account.

Documents

Files you upload (leases, inspection reports, etc.) are stored securely on Cloudflare R2.

Usage Data

We collect basic analytics: pages visited, features used, device type, and browser. This helps us improve the product. We don't track you across other websites.

How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and operate the PropPanda service
  • To process rent payments and financial transactions
  • To send transactional emails (invoices, reminders, receipts)
  • To communicate with you about your account
  • To improve the product based on usage patterns

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. Period.

Who We Share Data With

We only share data with services that help us run PropPanda:

  • Clerk — Authentication
  • Stripe — Payment processing
  • Plaid — Bank account connections
  • SendGrid — Email delivery
  • Cloudflare R2 — Document storage
  • Neon — Database hosting
  • Vercel — Application hosting

Each of these services has their own privacy policies. We choose partners that take data protection seriously.

Data Security

  • All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Database connections are encrypted
  • Sensitive financial data is handled by PCI-compliant services (Stripe, Plaid)
  • We don't store passwords — authentication is managed by Clerk
  • Document storage uses signed URLs with expiration

Your Rights

You can:

  • Access your data — Everything is visible in your dashboard
  • Export your data — Download your property, tenant, and financial records
  • Delete your account — Contact us and we'll delete your account and all associated data
  • Correct your data — Edit any information in your account settings

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.

Children

PropPanda is not intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes

If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll notify you by email. Minor updates will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
